Dorothy Marie Whiddon Chifici    

Dorothy Chifici, peacefully passed away on Saturday, July 16th, 2023,at North Oaks Medical Center at the age of 84.  She was a resident of Independence Louisiana born to the late Milbur Thomas Whiddon and Albert Whiddon.  When Dorothy was seven, she began playing the piano and later became the first pianist at Lighthouse Baptist Church.  She also learned to play the guitar and even sang on the radio when she was a little girl, her love for music spanned every kind from gospel to bluegrass music and she absolutely adored Elvis Presley.  Dorothy had many jobs over the years, from mastering the fry cook position, to janitorial work at the courthouse, to being a laborer in the wood plant, all of which she enjoyed and excelled at.  She would often be found watching Gunsmoke on every channel it was being played on, sitting on the porch eating her breakfast or joking around with her friends and family.  Everyone loved Aunt Dot and she is already deeply missed.

She leaves behind her adoring son, Charles L. Chifici; sister, Shirley Alexander and husband Chester; sister-in-law, Sundria Whiddon; nephews, Chris Whiddon and wife Debra, Dave Whiddon Jr., and Christopher Alexander Sr. and wife Wendy; nieces, Tina Bungle and husband Jessie, and Leslie Brumfield and husband David.  Dorothy also leaves behind numerous great-nieces and nephews, and her loving chihuahua, Smokie.

Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles Chifici, Jr.; brothers, Eloite Whiddon and Davis "Monroe" Whiddon; great-nephew, CJ Alexander Jr.; as well as her parents.

Family and friends are invited to attend her graveside service at Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery in Independence, LA on Wednesday, July 19th, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
