Dorothy Ann Burton

Dorothy Ann Burton passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 71. She was born on Tuesday, May 11, 1954 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to the late Douglas and Sarah Washington. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Aleia Gooding, Glenn Blackwell (Ariel), and Carlos Nelson (Stacy); grandchildren, Cameron, Natalie and Nathan Gooding; siblings, Doris Soule (Rene), Douglene and Denena Washington, Joyce LaFreida Flack; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Sarah Washington; and husband, Gary L. Burton, Sr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 from 9:00 am until services begin at 11:00 am.
