Dorothy Ann Barker

Dorothy Ann Mitchell Barker, age 84 of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at Camelot Community Care Nursing Home in Ponchatoula. She was born on Saturday, November 24, 1934, in Hammond, Louisiana, to Leroy and Lucille Bickford Mitchell. Dorothy enjoyed life and loved teaching Sunday School, traveling and crafts, but she especially loved spending time with her family.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Raymond Barker, her sons, Mark Barker and Kimble Barker and his wife Sherry, her grandchildren, Lance Barker, Ryan Barker and his fiance' Celine and LeAnn Barker, her great grandson, Reid Barker, her sisters, Genelle Myers and her husband Gene, Katherine Travis and her husband Winford, Margaret Roberts and her husband Charlie and Patricia Crayton and her husband Dennis, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Lucille Bickford Mitchell.

A Visitation for Dorothy will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Dorothy's Life will immediately follow visitation at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond.
