Doris Elam

Doris Coats Elam  passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018, in Springfield , Louisiana, at the age of 83.  She was born on Thursday, January 3, 1935 in Springfield, Louisiana to the late Addie Burns Coats and the late Willie Coats.  She was a resident of Springfield , Louisiana.

Doris  is survived by her daughter, Julie Arnold and her husband Joe; sons, Mark Elam and his wife Terry, and James Elam and his wife Donnie; brother, Russell Coats and his wife Marie; sister, Ramona "Sis" Elam; daughter-in-law, Debbie Elam; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father, Willie Coats; mother, Addie Burns Coats; husband, Kenneth J. Elam; son, Kenny Elam; and brother-in-law, Dick Elam.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, January 17, 2018, at the funeral home from 9:00 am until the Funeral Service at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow in Carter Cemetery.
