Dora Dean Edwards Wardsworth

Dora Dean Edwards Wardsworth went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 8, 2025, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 81. She was born on Wednesday, December 8, 1943 in Alexandria, Louisiana to the late Emma Dora Jordan Edwards and Andrew Jackson Edwards Sr. She was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana. Dora was strong in her faith and led a good Christian life. Her devotion to her faith showed through her ministry work with women and children.

Dora is survived by her children, Patrick Wardsworth, Sr., and Desiree Wardsworth (partner Lionel); grandchildren, Patrick, Jr., Arthur, III, Paris, Megan, Isaiah, Garrick, Tyrell, Vaughn and Taylor Paige Wardsworth; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Hayven, Autumn and Elijah; siblings, Michael Rae Edwards (Gloria), Jennifer Snowden (James) and Linda Lawrence; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Ezery Wardsworth, Sr.; son, Arthur Wardsworth, Jr.; parents, Emma Dora Jordan Edwards and Andrew Jackson Edwards, Sr.; and siblings, Robert and Gloria Edwards, Douglas Cole and Andrew Jackson Edwards, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Saturday, June 28, 2025 from 9:00 am until services begin at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park, Terrytown.
