Donnie Earl Wilson

Donnie Earl Wilson, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away in Hammond on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at the age of 73. He was born on Tuesday, September 16, 1947, in Hammond, Louisiana, the son of the late Edward and Christine Niehaus Wilson.

Donnie's family was the most important thing to him and always put them first. He loved  playing golf and watching football. He especially loved watching the Saints and LSU with his friends and family. He also loved country music, the mountains and going to Pigeon Forge. Donnie adored his grandchildren and cherished his time with them. Most of all he loved spending time with his wife. Donnie always had a story to tell that usually turned out to be a life lesson for his kids and grandkids. He had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Donnie is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 52 years, Brenda Bowman Wilson, sons, Brad Wilson, Sr., Danny Wilson, son & daughter-in-law, Scott and Monica Wilson, grandchildren, Michael Arnouville, Julia Bankston, Dylan Wilson, Haven Chappuis, Savannah Wilson, Sunshine Wilson, Kerri Cummings, Alyssa Cummings, and Colten Cummings, great-grandchildren, Zachary, Tucker and Paisley, sisters, Lois W. Lamp and Elaine "Pee Wee" Vicknair, and his brother, Larry Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Bradley Wilson, Jr., sister, Janet Basso, and brother, Charles "Bud" Wilson.

A Graveside Service will be held at the Ponchatoula Cemetery on Wednesday, December, 23, 2020 at 10:00 am.

The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers, phone calls and support during this time and would like all of Donnie's family and friends to know that they understand if you are unable to attend due to the pandemic.
