Donna Rae Lartigue Maggio of Robert, Louisiana, passed away on the afternoon of February 25th, 2023 at the age of 75. Â
Donna was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Clement Wickliff Lartigue III and Virginia Rae Sugarek Lartigue on March 28, 1947. Â
Donna was the beloved wife of Mario Angelo Maggio for 56 years; the loving mother of her three children, Anthony Joseph Maggio (Lisa Yvonne Yohn Maggio), Brandon Clement Maggio, and Angela Rae Maggio Rogers (Jason Woodrow Rogers); and âBig Boboâ to her four grandchildren, Nicolas Noah Maggio, Emma Rae Rogers, Donovan Woodrow Rogers, and Katie Elizabeth Rogers. Donna was also the âheartâ of her siblings, Clement Wickliff Lartigue IV, Christopher W. Lartigue, M.D., Lauren Marie Horridge, and Laurette Elaine Jacob.
Donna graduated from Sacred Heart in 1965. Â After graduation, Donna Rae married the love of her life at the age 19. Â Donna worked at Shell Oil Company and later at Hammond High School. Â During her 20 years at Hammond High, Donna held the positions of secretary and paraprofessional in the special education classroom. Â Donna gave selflessly to her students. Â She absolutely loved and respected each and every one of them and, in turn, they loved and respected her. Â After retiring from Hammond High, Donna spent the remainder of her life giving selflessly to her family.
Donna was a woman whose character exemplified strength, perseverance and selflessness. Â Even when her soul was tired she maintained strength for her family. Â Donnaâs legacy of undeniable strength, perseverance, and selflessness will live on through the loved ones she has left behind. Â Donna was the ârockâ of her family and will be missed tremendously. Â Mario, her beloved husband of 56 years, said âI was very fortunate to be married 56 years to my best friend."
