Donald "Hound Dog" Webre, Sr., peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, in Osyka, MS, surrounded by his loving family. He was known in the karaoke world, which he loved, as "Hound Dog". Donald was musically inclined since he was a young man playing in the Webre Brothers Band and later was known as the "One Man Band" playing the guitar, keyboard, and sang with all of his heart. He was a jokester, who loved to pick on his grandchildren constantly, always making them laugh creating memories they will cherish forever. Donald enjoyed drinking his coffee and working on TVs in his spare time. He had a heart of gold who would give the shirt off of his back to help anyone in need. Donald's family was his world and loved spending time with them, which those precious moments will be sorely missed.
He is survived by his children, Paula Philebar (Dennis), Donald Webre Jr. (Shelia), and Paul Webre; grandchildren, Angelle Quick (Brian), Dennis Philebar Jr. (Jenny), Lacey Webre, Tiffany Webre, Jessica Webre, and Paul Webre Jr.; 19 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Frank Webre III (Cecile), Vincent Webre (Rita), Clarence Webre (Rena), Chris Webre, Yvonne Waguenspack (David), Annette Martinez (Andy), Anthony "Tiger" Webre (Claire), and David Webre Sr. (Shirley).
Preceding him in death were his wife, Barbara Webre; grandson, Scott Philebar; granddaughter, Kayla Webre; brothers, Herman Webre Sr. and Kevin Webre; and his parents, Frank Webre Jr. and Inez Webre.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, from 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond from 9:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 a.m. Deacon Al Levy will officiate the services, with burial will follow in Colonial Cemetery in Independence, Louisiana.
