Donald "Pete" Tate
Donald "Pete" Tate, age 63, peacefully passed away at his residence on Saturday, August, 26, 2023. He was born on May 17, 1960 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and was a current resident of Hammond, Louisiana. Pete was known as a talented residential and commercial painter who was sought out by people far and wide for his attention to detail and precision painting skills. He had a knack for being a quack, and loved to get a laugh out of anyone. Pete loved to root for the New Orleans Saints, but his true passion was doting over his wife and loved her unconditionally to the very end, and are now together forever.
He leaves behind his daughters, Felicia Donielle Tate and Laura "Monica" Cox; grandsons, Jace Tate Parker and Jaxson Wade Tate; siblings, Mary Harper LeDoux, Barbara Ingram, Emmer Baham, Alex Wilton Tate; stepmother, Merline Tate; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Pete was preceded in death by his wife of 33 years, Terry Lynn Cox Tate; parents, Alex Tate, Louise Harper; and his stepfather, Leonard Ray Harper.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond on Saturday, September 2nd, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. He will be buried next to his beloved wife in Johnson Cemetery in Tickfaw.
