Donald Karl Larson

Donald Karl Larson, of Holden, Louisiana, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the age of 82. He was born on August 13, 1944, in New Orleans. Don proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War and also served as a merchant seaman. He earned an associate’s degree from Delgado Community College and spent most of his working years as a salesman. He built a career in various fields through outside sales. Don truly enjoyed the challenges that came with sales work and was especially gifted at connecting with others. Meeting new people was one of his great pleasures, and he had a natural talent for conversation that helped him make friends easily wherever he went. Don found great happiness in the outdoors. He loved fishing, crabbing, camping, and hiking, and he embraced the simple joys of time spent outside. Don would share many adventures with his family, creating countless cherished memories. He was also a devoted football fan, especially when it came to LSU and the Saints. Don was a member of AmVets Post 68 in Springfield and the Ponchatoula Lions Club where many friendships were formed over the years. Don was loved by many and will be missed dearly.

Don is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Charlotte Graver Larson; son, Eric K. Larson and his wife Sherry; grandson, Brady Larson; uncle, Bobby Larson; and cousin, Rhonda Sherwood.

In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sisters, Billie Jean and Juanita.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at AmVets Post 68, 26890 LA-42, Springfield, Louisiana 70462 on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at 1:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don's memory to Austin's Hope.
