Don Warren Ellen

Don W. Ellen, age 80, peacefully passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, in Hammond, Louisiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was a fighting LSU tiger football player, Vietnam veteran, a well known figure in his industry. Big Daddy was larger than life and made an impression on everyone he met. "And just remember...#64 in your program and #1 in your heart!"

He leaves behind his loving wife of 39 years, Margaret Ellen; children, Marian Ellen Trabeaux (Michael), Don Warren Ellen Jr. (Dessy), and Samuel "Sam" Worth Ellen (Alivia); step-son; Justin Starkey; adoring grandchildren, Grace Walsworth, William Walsworth, Timothy Ellen, and Lillian June Ellen; step-grandchildren; Emily, Jessie, Elle, Jaylee, Sophie, Kaci and Kodi Starkey; brother, Johnny Ellen (Gnita); as well as thousands of buddies.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Robert and Marian Ellen; and his sister, Nay Ann Ellen; step-son; Travis Starkey.

Family and friends are invited to attend The Celebration of Big Daddy on Saturday, July 20th 2024, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m at LSU Campus, Lod Cook Alumni Center in the Noland Ballroom.
