Dewana Roundtree Tate

Dewana E. Roundtree Tate passed away, Wednesday, July 7th at the age of 73.  She was a resident of Denham Springs.  She was born May 24, 1948 in Crowville, LA to Tom and Renia Roundtree and was the youngest of 8 siblings.  She was married to Charles I. Tate for over 50 years and enjoyed spending time with him, their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  She was responsible for ensuring yearly family reunions and enjoyed spending time with her extended family and friends. She and her late husband had huge hearts and assisted many people whom they considered family.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 10th at Harry McKneely & Sons in Hammond from 10-2 with service at 2:00.  Burial will follow (weather permitting) at Parklawn Memorial Park.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Rena and Mark Mancil, son and wife, Joey and Carol Tate, grandchildren Bradley and Blake Mancil, Samantha, Preston, and Collin Tate, great grandchildren Brady and Cordelia Mancil, one brother, Benny Roundtree, one sister, Annie Lou Meador, and many cousins,  nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Ira Tate, infant grandson Marshal Tate, her parents, Tom and Renia Roundtree, brothers Archie, William, J.W., and Tommy Roundtree, and one sister Marie Roundtree.
