Devin Ray Cook

Devin Ray Cook was born on October 27th, 1983, and left this earth on July 7th 2024. He died peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones. 

From a young boy, Devin’s passions were always in the outdoors, whether it was hunting, fishing or mudriding with his friends. Devin had more friends than the average person. It might be cliché to say, “he would give you the shirt off his back” or “he would light up a room”, but Devin showed more love to people than can be explained. He was a thinker and always wanted the best for anyone around him. It was easy to see the love Devin had for his daughter, Emily, whom he leaves behind. Their bond was strong and his loving and giving heart will live on through her. 

Devin leaves a legacy of love and wisdom beyond his years. We are grateful for the lessons he taught us all. “God first, family second, hunting third.”

Devin is survived by his father, Larry Cook Jr.; daughter, Emily Cook; aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Devin is proceeded in death by his mother, Michele Sanchez Cook; grandparents, Jessie and Larry Cook Sr.; Olivia Sanchez and Edwin Sanchez.

Devin’s family would like to thank all his caregivers, especially Brittani Erdey and Kristy Arceneaux for their around-the-clock care over the years with such dignity and respect. The family would have been lost without the love and care that Brittani and Kristy provided. 

Pallbearers will be Justin McCullen, Tyler Pigott, Jeremy McCullen, Seth Bourgeois, Chris Abels, Jody Richardson, Ben Bourgeois, and Steven Stoetzner. 

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home Ponchatoula, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, LA 70454, on Friday, July 12, 2024, beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 1:00 p.m.

Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery in Springfield, LA.
