Desiree Marie "Des" Lavergne

Desiree Marie "Des" Lavergne, of Independence, Louisiana, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the age of 33. She was born on April 17, 1990, in Hammond, Louisiana. Des was a one-of-a-kind, wild and free spirit who loved life and lived each day to the fullest. She loved animals, being outdoors, and her family and friends. Des is missed dearly and will never be forgotten by all who knew her.

Des is survived by her children, Desire, Destin, Avril, Ava, and Delilah; siblings, Dean Hayno, Don Hayno (Brenda), Deanna Calhoun (Doogie), Dawn Anderson (Chaz), and Devin Hayno (Shelbi); boyfriend, Kevin Case; and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Frances Elaine Jourdan Hayno, father, Eddie Lavergne, and a niece, Destiny.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Saturday, October 28, 2023 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. 

A Funeral Service will begin at 11:00 am, with Wayne Ratliff officiating.

Interment will follow at Bennett Family Cemetery in Folsom, Louisiana.
