Denver Ray Hollars a two tour Vietnam Veteran War Hero, retired from J.B. Hunt with over 2 million consecutive accident-free miles- passed away on September 3, 2025. He was known by numerous names by those he loved Snake, Partner, Gramps, and Pops. He had a love for his country beyond comparison and was always up for a road trip, especially if it included the beach.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, Esther Lee Peterson Hollars and Andrew Jackson “Jay” Hollars; and his brother, Gordon Hollars.

He leaves behind his extremely loved and spoiled beagle, VeeZee, who was his barstool buddy and partner in everything; son, Lloyd Hollars, wife, Ellen Hollars; grandson, Andrew Hollars; daughter, Jacqueline Shoemaker, Husband Bart Shoemaker; granddaughter, Danan & husband Tanawan Free; his great grandsons, Beckett, Jett & Otto; granddaughter, Abby & Husband Ricky Major; great-granddaughter, Ali Smith; son, Flint C Hollars, wife Kendra Hollars; step-grandson, Lain McDonald; daughter, Jailee Murray, Husband Andy Murray; sister, Mickey Anderson; niece, Mariah & Jarret Lewallen; and nephew, Cally Hollars.
