Deborah "Debbi" Jean Nichols

Deborah "Debbi" Jean Nichols, of Hammond, Louisiana, went to her heavenly home on December 5, 2025, at the age of 76, surrounded by family. She was born on Saturday, January 22, 1949, in San Angelo, Texas, the daughter of the late Wilford Joseph Simcik and Georgia Mihalik Simcik.

Debbi was strong in her faith and found deep joy in being an avid churchgoer, drawing strength, comfort, and purpose from her beloved First Christian Church, which she lovingly referred to as her adopted family. Her devotion to God was reflected in the unwavering love and care she showed to those around her. She cherished her husband, children, sisters, sister-in-laws, nieces, and nephews, holding each of them close to her heart. Debbi will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Debbi is survived by her husband of 57 years, John Nichols, and son, Joseph Shane Nichols. She is also survived by her siblings and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Benny Nichols.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at First Christian Church, 305 E Charles St, Hammond, LA 70401, at 2:00 pm.
