David Richard Smith, Jr.

David Richard Smith Jr. was born in Independence, Louisiana September 21, 1971, to Sheryl Achord and David Smith Sr. David was called to his final resting place in heaven on July 10, 2021. David attended Ponchatoula High School, then later graduated from Culinary School in Lafayette Louisiana. He had a true passion for cooking and being able to share his meals with family and friends. Further in life he worked for TWA Erectors as an Iron Worker, Rigger, and Forklift Operator.  David enjoyed fishing, having a great time, spending time with his beautiful wife Lori and their fur baby Maggie, and always trying new foods together. He was a loving son, father, step-father, uncle, and friend. David married the love of his life, Lori Landry Smith, two years ago, and the two had been inseparable, the definition of “True Love”.  We lost his beloved wife July 18, 2021, as they are now reunited celebrating eternal life. David was the light of life, his smile would make you smile. We have lost two truly beautiful souls. We all know that they would say, do not be sad of my loss, but to celebrate my life and hold all of the memories close. David is survived by his mother and step-father, Sheryl Achord and Earl Achord;  sister, Danyelle Smith;  daughter, Casey Ayn; step-children, Adrian, Emily, Daisey, Luke, and Mark; grandchildren, Emerson, Belle, and Rhylee; aunts and uncles, Pam and John, Connie and Bobbie, Maudine and George, Patsy, Janice, Theresa, and Liz;  nieces and nephews, Skyler, Summer, Carmen, Zachary and Randall; great nephews and nieces, Nicolos, Sky, Karson, Sofia and Kameron. David is preceded in death by his wife, Lori Smith;  father, David Smith Sr.;  sister, Dana Horner;  and grandmother, Zelma White. No services will be held.
