David Bryan Deffner, Sr.

David Bryan Deffner, Sr. passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 65. He was born on Friday, October 7, 1960, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Ellen and Clarence Deffner. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

David was a true Louisiana Sportsman who loved hunting in North Louisiana and going crabbing. He especially enjoyed crawfish and crab boils and BBQs with his children and grandchildren.

Some of his happiest memories were made simply spending time with the family he loved.

David is survived by his loving wife, Vickie Deffner; stepson, Jerry Davenport, Sr.; children, Dawn Bullock (Mark), DJ Deffner (Whitney) and Karen Popich (Danny); grandchildren, Kiersten Burst, Jerry Davenport, Jr. (Mikaela), Everlyn Davenport, Sawyer Broussard, and Millie Broussard; great-granddaughter, Magnolia Davenport; siblings, Peggy and Robert Deffner (Jennifer); and sisters-in-law, Pamela Deffner and Wendye.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Clarence, Jr. and Charles Barry Deffner.

A celebration of life will be held on October 11th 2026, from 11 am-3 pm at the Kiwanis log cabin in Ponchatoula.
