David Allen Mccraw, Jr.

David Allen McCraw, Jr., joined our Lord in peace at 92 years of age on Tuesday, May 24, 2022.

Allen was the son of David Allen McCraw, Sr. and Dicie Myrick McCraw. He was born in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on January 24, 1930. Allen always spoke of being raised on a farm and that is where he learned his work ethic.

He was preceded in death by his parents, David Allen McCraw, Sr. and Dicie McCraw, his wife Peggy Turnage McCraw, and his son, Samuel Neal McCraw. He is survived  by his daughter-in-law, Debra Williams McCraw, granddaughter, Taylor Jean McCraw Bello and her husband, Justin Evasco Bello.

Allen loved his country and served it well in the National Guard for several years. One of his favorite topics to discuss was politics. Allen attended Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in Perkinston, Mississippi for two years. He primarily lived in the in the surrounding area of New Orleans, finally landing in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, where he has lived for years. Allen has developed many friends in Ponchatoula which stem from his fifty plus years in the contracting/construction business. He had great knowledge concerning any aspect of the business and would help anyone at a moments notice. Besides his business endeavors Allen loved to bowl and was on a team for many years. He was a licensed pilot and loved to fly. He had a wonderful group of friends he met almost every morning for breakfast.

He is gone but never forgotten, leaving his loving memories in all our hearts forever.
