Danny Rivers

Mr. Danny Rivers, 61 years old of Tickfaw, Louisiana, passed away  Saturday, October 29, 2016, at his residence.

He was born on Saturday, September 10, 1955, in Independence, LA, son of the late Norman G. and Carrie Santangelo Rivers.

Mr. Rivers was employed for 35 years at the Louisiana Department of  Transportation and Development as a  Highway Foreman 2.

Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Laurie Scimeca Rivers, son & daughter-in-law, Brandon and Jan B. Rivers, daughter & son-in-law, Brandi R. and Lance Traylor, 6 grandchildren, Tyler Rivers, Alex Rivers, Wyatt Baker, Olivia Rivers, Alexis Rivers, and Lani Traylor, 4 brothers, John Rivers,  Norman Rivers, Jr., Charles Wayne Rivers, and Ritchie Rivers, mother-in-law, Marie Scimeca.

He is preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Carlee Marie Rivers,  Colin Joseph Rivers, and Madison Kaye Rivers, his sister, Beverly R. LaMarca, father-in-law, Dominick Scimeca, nephew, Brad Norman Rivers,  and cousin, Johnnie "Lil Man" Santangelo.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 9:30 am until 11:30 am at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church in Tickfaw, LA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Pompeii Catholic Church, Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 11:30 am, with Fr. Cayet Mangiaracina, O.P. officiating.

Interment will follow in the Tickfaw Catholic Cemetery.
