Dana Claire Bottolfs Keen-Mccaslin

Wrapped peacefully in the arms of her husband, her life and her love, Claire ended her battle with Ovarian Cancer on Monday December 6, 2021.

To those who knew her, Claire was mother, sister, daughter, caregiver and friend until the very end. She lived her life to make others happy and filled her soul with the smiles she created.

Claire graduated from Ponchatoula High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University. Her loving heart and kind spirit lead her to her nursing career.  She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.  After graduation she accepted a position at St. Tammany Parish Hospital in the Same Day Surgery Department.

As a child, Claire enjoyed camping and spending long, lazy days with her family and friends on the beach in Gulf Shores, Alabama.  Church camps and church attendance was a regular and important part of her growing up years.   Claire and her husband have traveled many miles in and out of the country. They loved to hike, bike, rock hunt and collect beautiful pieces of wood from which Pat created amazing pieces of furniture. On any day, you could find Claire and Pat sitting on their porch enjoying a glass of wine, watching the sunset and listening to the birds. Claire has a beautiful and devoted daughter.  Megan earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of New Orleans.

Claire is survived by her daughter, Megan Danielle Keen, her husband of 17 years, Patrick McCaslin, MD, parents Charles and Sylvia Bottolfs sister, Diana Bottolfs, brother, Charles Samuel Bottolfs (Anna), her loving nieces and nephews Margaret Claire Sandage - Palmer and Olsen, Kevin DiMaggio, Olivia Bottolfs, Alexandra Bottolfs, and her seven grandchildren: Davis Bloom, Leilani McCaslin, Maya McCaslin, Oliver Varnado, Elliot Varnado, McKenzie Varnado and Adrian Varnado.

To Pat’s children, Claire was their mother, Chris McCaslin (Ana), Megan Nicole McCaslin (Jonathon), Eric Vanderlind (Michael), Isaac McCaslin, Jeremy McCaslin (Smaranda), Kerry Bloom (Jeff).

Claire was preceded in death by husband, Daniel Keen and grandparents, Sam and Eva Bottolfs, Millard and Cora Hutchinson.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation and service at Harry McKneely Funeral Home 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, LA 70401, on Friday, December 10 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm and service to follow.
