Curlise Janie Church Hazelwood

Curlise Janie Church Hazelwood a resident of Albany, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025 at her place of residence. Curlise was born in Odessa, Texas on February 5th, 1979. She was 46 years old. Curlise was employed at the Elmers candy factory in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. 

Curlise had a heart of gold and her love for her family was undeniable, she was always there to support them any way she could.

Curlise was proceeded in death by her husband, Steven Paul Hazelwood; father, Samuel Curtis Odell Church; mother, Jewel Alice Stamey; brothers, Charles Samuel Church and Curtis Odell Church, and son-in-law, Gary Eugene Alley.

Curlise is survived by daughters, Brittney Nicole Hazelwood and Samantha Gayle Hazelwood; son, Dylan Paul Hazlewood and wife Meranda Joy Walker: grandchildren, Zayden William Alley, Zyler Paul Hazelwood, Roslynn Lou Hazelwood, Nova Jewel Hazelwood, Dylan Paul Hazelwood Jr; sister, Mary Marlene Murphy Newcomb and husband Scott Newcomb, Julie Ann Murphy Dewitt and husband Walter Lynn Dewitt; brother, Matthew (Sam) James Murphy Jr. and wife Tammy Lynn Loftis Murphy; brother, Jimmy Church and Wife Brenda Church. Curlise also had several nieces and nephews that she loved very much; MaryJo Hatchett, Sierra Scott Newcomb, Stephanie Ann Dewitt and husband Bryce Camgimilla, Todd Lynn Dewitt, Jacob Church, Alice Burns and husband Dakoto Burns, Tiffany Church. Great niece's and nephews, William Scott Hatchett, Harper Jane Hatchett, Ryver Knox Camgimilla, Bryleigh Blaze Camgimilla, Laken Skye Egnew, Addison Burns, Greyson Burns Jax Lee Vaughan, Ava Rain Vaughan, and Tommy Odell McDaniel.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, at 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Friday, December 5, 2025 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, 10:00 am- 11:00 am.
