Corwin Lamar Roux DePhillips

February 2, 1988 - April 1, 2021  

It is with deep sorrow that we announce that Corwin Lamar Roux DePhillips, left his physical body on Thursday, April 1.  He is survived by his father, Wesley DePhillips, mother, Orlisa Roux DePhillips of Loranger and sister, Sara DePhillips of Hammond, numerous Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.  

We know that he is now with those who loved him and went before him to be with the Lord including his maternal grandparents, Bertrand E. Roux and Sara S. Roux, respectively.  You were their “little man” and now you can walk with them again.  Corwin is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Franklin Lamar DePhillips and Anna Carlene Jones DePhillips.

Corwin had a big heart and loved his companions without reservation.  During his short lifetime, he sadly lost many beloved friends to death.  Their loss grieved him sorely and now he may joyfully reunite with them in paradise where there is no death, no sorrow, and no pain.  

Corwin was a gifted musician, mastering seventeen instruments.  He could both compose and write lyrics.  He seemed happiest when playing his original songs.  He could “lay down tracks” and was a certified sound engineer and optics technician.  He composed music for several video games, and he posted his original songs and poetry to various online platforms.  Most recently, his attention turned to finishing his electrician’s certification.

His quirky humor, mischievous nature, and agility at turning a phrase gave him the ready ability to joke and tease others good naturedly.  His loved ones will miss both his knitted brows in deep concentration and his broad grin and booming voice which could light up any room.  

A private family gathering will be held in lieu of a service.  His burial will be private.
