Cleveland Sam Courtney Jr.

Cleveland Sam Courtney Jr., of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at the age of 62. He was born on Monday, January 1, 1962, in Hammond, Louisiana.

Cleveland is survived by his wife, Nancy Lorraine Gallington Courtney; daughter, Melissa Courtney Bassemier (William), daughter, Valerie C Wall, (Dennis "Buck"); son, Jason Wayne Courtney (Sherry Morris); grandchildren, Trevor, Tori, Austin (Becca), Dylan, Victoria, Jason Jr, Bryce, and Piper; great-grandchildren, Addie and Reese, sister, Susan "Susie" Anthony (Mark), brother, Jerry "Tater" Courtney (Cindi), sister, Anita "Prissi" Courtney. He is also survived by Jordan Courtney (Payton), who he thought of as a son, and Jordans daughters Caroline and Colleen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cleveland Sam Courtney Sr. and Helen Threeton Courtney.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia St., Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 pm. 

Interment will follow at Killian First Baptist Church Cemetery in Springfield, Louisiana.
