Clara Hebert Alexander Louque

Clara Hebert Alexander Louque was born November 30, 1931, to the late Percy Hebert and Eulie Hebert Bourque in Wadesboro, LA and passed away peacefully surrounded by her family June 30, 2023, at her home in Ponchatoula.  She is survived by her son, Sidney Alexander (Pat); daughter, Phyllis Lee; stepchildren, Jackie, Janine, J.J. and Jason; sister, Brenda Bourque Farrar; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; close friends who considered her as their second mother, Cindy Sanders, Brenda Wilson, and Patty Joiner.  She was known as  maw maw and grandma to many. In addition to her parents, Clara is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry C. Louque; son, David “Butch” Alexander; daughter, Paulette Joiner; grandson, Paul Lee; great grandson, Tripp Roth; step daughter, Melanie; one sister; and five brothers.  She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ponchatoula, and a former longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Gramercy, LA.  Clara was a retired nurse having worked at the former Seventh Ward Hospital and numerous other nursing facilities in the area.  She loved her country music, loved to dance, and play guitar.  She influenced her son, grandsons, and great grandsons to learn to play.  Visitation will be held Monday, July 3, 2023, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 100 E. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.  The funeral service will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a recitation of the Rosary followed by a Rite of Christian Burial celebrated by Deacon Larry Melancon.  Interment will follow in Wetmore Cemetery.
