Christopher Robert Johnson

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Christopher Robert Johnson, who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 9, 2025 at the age of 43, after a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Christopher was born on November 4, 1981 in Hammond, Louisiana to Robert “Bob” and Patricia “Tink” (Landry) Johnson, and from an early age, he was known as our very own “Dennis the Menace”. Christopher made sure his time was occupied, never leaving any wonder what was on his mind and always filling the space with conversation. He was pure boy with a love for baseball, fishing, music, and loved life to the fullest. He never met a stranger. If you spent any time with Chris, you knew he was fully present, genuinely interested, and wholeheartedly invested in you. His ability to make others feel seen, heard, and valued was one of his greatest gifts.

He married Jami Johnson on November 10, 2007, and together they built a life adding three darling boys to their home. Family was always the center of Christopher’s world. He valued nothing more than being with his family and friends. He was a friend for life. People were his passion.

A faithful believer, Christopher lived out his faith with grace and humility. He served others, and was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Professionally, he worked as a Scheduler/Planner in the Oil & Gas industry, where he was respected not just for skill, but for honesty, integrity, accountability and loyalty.

He is survived by his devoted wife Jami Johnson, their three sons Parker Easten Johnson, Jackson Landry Johnson and Presley Evans Johnson; his parents Bob and Pat Johnson. He is also survived by his sister Ashley Claunch, brother-in-law Jake Claunch; nephew Bradyn Claunch and his wife Olivia, great nephews Baylor and Briggs, Nephews Brock Claunch, Jax Claunch and niece Madison Claunch. Christopher is survived by many extended family members and a wide circle of close friends who became like family.

Christopher was preceded in death by his grandparents John William and Margaret Lablanc Johnson, and O. T. and Ann Landry along with numerous Aunts and Uncles.

Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of life service at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Monday, June 16, 2025, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 1:00 PM. “Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:23)

Though we grieve deeply, we rejoice knowing that he is made whole, no longer in pain, and at peace in the presence of the Lord.
