Christine Lawson Morgan Bourgeois

On Tuesday May 24th, 2022, at the age of 98, Christine shed the shackles of her earthly body and went home to be with the Lord.  It is impossible to put into words what an incredibly hard worker she was, or what a steadfast anchor she was to her family, or how profoundly she will also be missed by the countless others she touched, fed, helped, or helped raise during nearly a full century of life. Feeding people was her joy and passion, but nurturing was her gift.

She leaves behind her surviving children, John Morgan (Mary), Liz Morgan Daray, Lori Bourgeois Sanders (Max); grandchildren, Randy Morgan (Donna), Jeff Morgan (Candace), Stacey Morgan Smith (Dwayne), Kevin Morgan, Jennifer Hornsby Gill (Curtis), Sarah MaeLee Morgan, Michael Daray, Kacie Sanders; 11 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson, as well as her sister, Katherine “Katty” Lawson; a brother-in-law, Alton “Buddy” Cannon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding Christine in death are her husbands, John Henry Morgan, Wilbert Etienne Bourgeois Jr; sons, Tommy Morgan, Ronnie Morgan; infant daughter, Mary Katherine Morgan; parents, Clarence Elvin Lawson and Leona Metz Lawson; siblings, Murray Lawson, Ruby Lawson Smith (Ralph); grandson, Kelly Daray; and great-grandson, Devin Morgan.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service for Mrs. Christine on Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula at 2:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Dr. David Cranford will officiate the services with entombment in Ponchatoula Mausoleum to follow.
