Christine Patricia "Patsy" Penalber Kennedy

Christine Patricia "Patsy" Penalber Kennedy, of Springfield, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at the age of 76. She was born on April 26, 1947, in Maurepas, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Bush Henry Penalber Sr. and Ettivie Marie Hart Penalber. Patsy was a loving wife, mother and grandmother with a heart of gold. She was incredibly generous and kind to everyone she knew and people she met. Patsy worked for many years as a school bus driver for Livingston Parish School District until her retirement. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Patsy is survived by her children, Ronald "Brett" Kennedy, Kelly Dexter Kennedy (Abby), Monica Darnell Rhodus (Tim), and Rhonda McLin; grandchildren, Justin Kennedy, Laken Lanoux, Jourdan Raney and her husband Dylan, Megan Foxworth (Michael), Kris Lanoux (Star Diaz), Katie Lanoux, Nicholas, Mary, Gabe and Kelsey Kennedy, and Ashley Lanoux; great grandchildren, Avery Foxworth, Payton Lanoux and Sawyer Raney; brother, Emmanuel Penalber; sister-in-law, Deanna Kennedy; brother-in-law, Kurt Kennedy; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

In addition to her parents, Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald "Ronnie" Dexter Kennedy, and her 8 brothers.

The family would like to thank St. Catherine's Hospice for their compassionate care.

Family and friends will be received at First Baptist Church of Springfield, 31665 Hwy 22, Springfield, Louisiana 70462 on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 11:00 am until 2:30 pm. 

A Funeral Service will be held at the church on Saturday at 2:30 pm, with Bro. Allen DeMars officiating.

Interment will follow at Carter Cemetery in Springfield, Louisiana.

There will be a gathering after the graveside service at the church recreational hall and you are welcome to bring food to share.
