Chevy Dayne Hare, age 18, of Independence, Louisiana passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020 after a fatal Hit and Run accident. Chevy was born on August 2, 2002 to Tabatha Hare and Joe St. Romain, Jr. and raised since birth by the man he called dad, his stepfather Timothy “TJ” Phillips. He was well known and loved in Holden, Ponchatoula and East Ascension High Schools where he attended. If he was not at school Chevy loved to skateboard and spend time with his many friends or siblings. 

Chevy is survived by his mother, Tabatha Hare, his stepfather, Timothy “TJ” Phillips, his father, Joe St. Romain, Jr., his brothers, Ethen, Logan, Laine, Dakota, and Jason, his sisters Aryanna, Deanna, Mercedes, Kelly and Jasmine, also many aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. 

Chevy is preceded in death by his grandmother, Lola Howlett, great grandmothers, Barbara Jean Melancon and Karen Marlatt, his uncle, Joseph Hare and his aunt Cheryl Mill. 

His wonderful spirit, joy and life will be celebrated on Saturday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Service Celebrating Chevy’s spirit, joy and life will immediately follow visitation at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Oak Meadows Cemetery in Pumpkin Center. 

Face masks are mandatory to attend any visitation or service at the funeral home and we ask that you maintain a respectful distance with the family. Thank you for your cooperation.
