Chester "Dale" Bailey

Chester "Dale" Bailey left his earthly home on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the age of 69.  Dale battled a recent diagnoses of PSP.  He was the youngest son of Corrie David Bailey and Ella Mae Stevens Bailey, born May 11, 1954.  Dale was the owner of Dale Bailey Logging for over 30 years.  He will forever be remembered for his honesty, loyalty, and compassion for family and especially those in need.  His brief illness may have captured him physically, but he maintained his usual spirit of love and kindness to everyone, especially his nieces and nephews.

Chester is survived by his 3 sisters, Evelyn Gatlin, Glenda McLain, and Agnes Cardinale; 2 brothers, Charles Bailey and Carter Bailey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Corrie Bailey; mother, Ella Mae Stevens Bailey; 3 sisters, Norma Jean Kuhn, Rovella Kelly, and Mary Bailey; 1 brother, Carroll David Bailey; and nieces and nephews, Steven Elvir, Cort Bailey, Carolyn Bailey, Chad McLain, and Christopher Emmons.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.  The visitation will continue the following day, Friday, May 26, 2023 at the funeral home, beginning at 8:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.  

Interment will follow in Joiner Cemetery, Loranger, Louisiana.
