Charlette McCaa Stelly was born on March 13, 1953, in Independence, LA, and died on February 21, 2026, peacefully in her sleep. She grew up and lived most of her life in the Ponchatoula area. And lived in Springfield, La until she took ill in October 2026.
She is survived by her devoted friend and caretaker, Barbara (Barbie) Whittington and her family. Charlette is also survived by four children; Aubrey Whittington (Heather), Janessa Whittington, Jeremy Whittington (Debbie), and Jayme Whittington. She had 11 grandchildren and great grandchildren. Other surviving relatives include her sister, Libby McCaa Wilder; and brother-in-law, William Wilder; and several nieces and nephews.
Charlette was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Stelly; her parents, Charles and Ruth McCaa; and on sister, JoAnn Aymond.
Charlette was a member of Landmark Church of Livingston, La., where she will be celebrated on March 7th, 2026, at 2:00 p.m..
She spent many years working with the Care organization as a caretaker, sharing her kind heart and compassionate nature with the elderly and those with special needs. Charlette loved her pets and enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She will be missed by many. Her family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, and other medical professionals that cared for her during her extensive illnesses. Charlette also appreciated the care and kind treatment she received at the Hood Memorial Rehab Hospital, The Lodge Home, North Oaks Hospital, and the PAM Specialty Hospital.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Homes.
