Charles Richard Gordon

Charles Richard Gordon  passed away on Friday, June 19, 2020, in Houston, Texas, at the age of 73.  He was born on Friday, November 29, 1946 in Independence, Louisiana to the late Rebecca Schmitt LeBlanc and Adam Gordon.  He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.

Charles is survived by his wife, Kathie Gordon; daughter, Susan Gordon Caves (Claude, Jr.); grandchildren, Michael Corey Gordon, Tyler Lee Gordon, and Christopher Joseph Caves; step-grandson, Daniel Paul Caves; siblings, Preston Joseph Gordon, Adam P "Bud" Gordon (Doris), Shelia Gordon Marshall (Ronnie), and David Alan Nettles (Margie Robertson); step-sister, Janie Cross; nieces, Barbara Nettles Motichek, Elizabeth Nettles, Ashley Nettles Robertson, Stephanie Cross, Summer, Brandy, and Crystal Gordon, Brenda K Gordon, Janet Sibley Hamlett, and Patricia Griffin Sims; nephews, John William Griffin, Brenden Teral, Shane Patrick Gordon, Sean Torgrimson, and Rodney and Ken Sibley; brothers-in-law, Reggy Torgrimson and Gus Rodrigue; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Charles is also preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr and Mrs. Preston Gordon, and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schmitt; his daughter, Melissa Gordon; his sisters, Rebecca Torgrimson and Frances Gordon Rodrigue; step-brother, James "Pee Wee" Cross, and his nephew, Les Torgrimson.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula, Louisiana 100 W Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, beginning at 11:00 AM until 12:30 PM.

Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Slidell, Louisiana.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family, or to the Wounded Warrior Project in Charles' name.
