Charles Glyn Bardwell Sr.

Glyn Bardwell Sr. peacefully passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at the age of 74 surrounded by his loving family and his favorite angel nurses. He was a loving husband, proud father, and a spoil them rotten pawpaw, as well as, a father-in-law, uncle, friend, but most of all, a God-loving man. To some, he was known as Big G, Bambi, Frog, Papa Glyn, Pops, or even Paw-Paw Turtle. It didn’t matter what he was called he loved every title and the people who gave them to him.

Glyn was a one-of-a-kind man who spent his life providing for his family with a career as an engineer for 44 years. Outside of work, he was known for his large, giving heart to the community he called home. With a love for cooking, he could be found catering benefits and fundraisers for various churches and organizations in the area, expecting nothing in return but seeing the smiles on the faces of the ones he was helping. He took any chance he could to teach those cooking techniques to those who would listen, and he was proud to share his knowledge and love of food. He really was a rolling recipe book.

Glyn is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Marcy Joiner Bardwell, a daughter Tiffany Bardwell Adams (Ashley), a son Glyn Bardwell II(Roxanne) and three amazing grandchildren: Rylee Ann, Levi Byron, and Harlee Sue Bardwell. If you knew Glyn, you know those grandbabies were his pride and joy. He spent every opportunity he had showing them how much they were loved(spoiled).

He is also survived by his brother Kenneth Bardwell(Valerie), and two sisters, Mary Myers and Frankie Morgan.

Glyn was preceded in death by his parents Festus and Aurelia Cooper Bardwell. Brothers: Harold, Winston, and Eustus Bardwell. Sisters: Juanita McBeth, Patsy Falgout, Beatrice Lee, and Sharon Prevost. He is also preceded by his lifelong friend, cousin, and partner in crime Levi Robertson.

Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely &Son Funeral Home, 100 W. Magnolia Street, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454 on Sunday, November 13, 2022, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm.

A Funeral Service will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home - Ponchatoula, on Sunday at 2:00 pm, with Deacon Nat Garofalo officiating.

Interment will follow at Sand Hill Cemetery in Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
