Charles Estes Statham

Charles Estes “Chuck” Statham passed away on November 16th, 2019 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana at the age of 66. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi, the son of Charles and Barbara Statham.

Chuck loved to play golf. It was a game he learned from his dad and enjoyed playing with his brother. He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and loved everything “Bulldog,” especially the cowbells. Although he loved “State,” he was also a converted LSU fan. He was a kind man who saw the good in everyone. He had a strong faith in God and His will.

Chuck is survived by his wife, Mamie Giamalva Statham, his son Joe Statham and wife Adrienne, and his daughter Ashley Statham. He is also survived by his mother Barbara Ruth Statham, his brother Michael Statham and wife Willa, and his sister Vicki Pitts.

He was preceded in death by his father Charles Dewitt Statham, his wife’s parents Joseph and Congetta Giamalva, and his brother-in-law Darrell Pitts.

Two of Chuck’s favorite charities are the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and CAAWS, which was the provider of his grandpuppy, Sadie. The family would like to express their thanks to all health care providers and facilities who contributed to his care.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 20th between 9:00am and 12:00pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, with a graveside service to follow at Colonial Cemetery in Independence.
