Charles "Cap" Aaron Pedigo

Charles "Cap" Aaron Pedigo, born November 4, 1933 died peacefully on May 18, 2017 at North Oaks Hospital surrounded by family and friends. 

Cap is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Vivian Pedigo; his sons, Stewart Pedigo and his wife Stephanie, and Steven Pedigo and his wife Frances; his brother, James Pedigo of Texarkana, Texas; three grandchildren, Dennis Pedigo and his wife Hayley, Leslie Hose and her husband Harry, and Aaron Pedigo and his wife Kristen; his close family friend, Rick Lanning and 5 great grandchildren, also many nieces, nephews and close friends.

Cap was preceded in death by his parents Jessie and Myrtle Pedigo; his 3 brothers, Erwin, Wallace and Lloyd Pedigo and his 3 sisters, Vera Pedigo, Lucille Pedigo, and Ina McKenzie.

Cap served in the Army from 1955-1957.  He worked 4 years for Goodyear then National Life Insurance for 21 years.  Cap and Vivian opened the Book Exchange in 1976 and then opened Downtown Furniture in 1980.  He retired in 2000 but continued as a consultant with Stewart, Steven and Grandson, Aaron in the furniture business.  Cap was the author of 2nd Time Around Furniture a How-to Manual for Used Furniture Dealers. He was a member of Woodland Park Baptist Church. Cap was a Mason and a member of Livingston Lodge #160 in Hammond where he received his 50-year pin.  He was a loving person who enjoyed parties with friends in the garage.  Cap was also a mentor for numerous young people.  He enjoyed vacationing with family and friends and loved the Saints and LSU games.  

A Visitation for Cap will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Harry McKneely and Son Funeral Home in Hammond. A Funeral Celebrating Cap's Life will immediately follow visitation at 12:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Rose Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Cap requests that donations be made to the Woodland Park Baptist Church Building Fund, 1909 J W Davis Drive, Hammond, Louisiana 70403 in his memory.
