Coach Charles Baglio, affectionately known as "Coach Bags," left an indelible mark on the world of sports and education, but more importantly, on the countless lives he touched. His career spanned over five decades, beginning with an impressive 34 years at Independence High School, where he served as head coach for 22 years. Coach Bags led his team to nine district titles and two state championship appearances, but his greatest pride was in mentoring and shaping the young athletes who looked up to him.

In 2002, Baglio joined the LSU Tigers as Director of External Relations, where he played a key role through three head coaches, three national championships, and numerous bowl victories. After 21 years with LSU Football, he retired with a legacy of dedication, humility, and passion for the game. Known for his sharp mind and competitive spirit, Coach Bags also enjoyed an active retirement, playing golf, working out at North Cypress Fitness, and savoring trips to the casino. His most cherished moments, however, remained the relationships he built, leaving behind a legacy of inspiration and excellence.

The love of his life, Margaret Ann, was always by his side, and his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were his pride and joy. Coach Bags will be deeply missed, but his impact will be felt for generations to come.
