Charlene Oliphant Bertus

Charlene Oliphant Bertus, of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 7, 2025, at the age of 75. She was born on Monday, September 26, 1949, in Loranger, Louisiana, to the late Simon Oliphant, Jr. and the late Opal Needham Oliphant.

Charlene was a kind and sweet soul, loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. A true workaholic, she took pride in everything she did, whether it was her job or cutting the grass. Spending time outdoors is where she found joy and peace. Her warmth and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Charlene is survived by her sons, Nolan Max Pierson and William Ray Bertus, Jr. (Connie); grandchildren, Seth Bertus and Kristen Gaudet; sisters, Vicki McNabb and Geraldine Simpson (Donnie); and brother, John Oliphant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Bertus, Sr.; parents, Simon Oliphant, Jr. and Opal Needham Oliphant; first husband, Nolan Pierson; sister-in-law, Carleen Oliphant; and brother-in-law, Gary McNabb.

Immediate family and friends are invited to the Graveside Service at Narretto Cemetery in Loranger, Louisiana on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jared Morse officiating.

The family would like to thank North Oaks Hospice for their care during this difficult time.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
