Chandler Emmerick Eugene Smith

Chandler Emmerick Eugene Smith passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 24.  He was born on Thursday, July 9, 1998 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Chantelle Guitreau and Chad Smith.  He was a resident of Covington, Louisiana.  Chandler was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing that he loved to share with his friends and family.  "The boy could catch a fish in a mudhole."  

Chandler is survived by his parents, Chad Smith, Teri Smith, and Chantelle Guitreau; fiance, Rhiannon Theriot; children, Carson and Rylie Smith; grandparents, Frank Smith, Susie Kolb, and Bobby and Latricia Guitreau; great-grandparents, Leroy and Evelyn Guitreau; aunts, Dawn Corban (Tim) and Tammy Hern (Greg); God-father and uncle, Derek Smith (Heather); uncle Jason Guitreau (Tammie); special aunt, Tikki Brogan; God-mother, Brandi Ward Austin; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Louis "Bob" Guitreau and Corinne Guitreau.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 5:00 PM until the funeral service begins at 7:00 PM. The visitation will continue after the service concludes until 9:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Chandler's name to his family.
