Chad Angelo Ribando passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, in Amite, Louisiana, at the age of 43. He was born on Tuesday, November 10, 1981, in Independence, Louisiana to Betty Jean Alred and Michael Joseph Ribando Sr. He was a resident of Tickfaw, Louisiana.
Chad’s favorite pastime was fishing, finding peace and joy out on the water. He also loved to hunt and embrace the outdoors. A true jack of all trades, he had a remarkable talent for everything from plumbing to carpentry—there was nothing he couldn’t fix or build. Chad was deeply loved by his family and friends, and remembered for his kind heart and the countless moments of laughter and joy he shared with those he loved. His family will forever hold his memory close, honoring the bond they shared and the light he brought into their lives.
Chad is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Alred (Reese Howell, Jr.); father, Michael Joseph Ribando, Sr.(Vicki); son, Brayden Ribando; daughter, Aurora Ribando; brother, Michael Ribando, Jr.; sister, Crystal Ribando; stepbrother, Brady Stewart; stepsisters, JC Rushing (DJ) and Crystal Gentry; aunts, Debbie Conleay (Randy), and Emily Alfano (Leon Sr.); uncle, Dominick Ribando (Jenifer); nephews, Michael Anthony, Alexander, and Blake Ribando; cousins, Joey Monteleone (Jennifer), Tammy Williams (Donnie), Leon Alfano, Jr. (Jennifer Alfano), Olivia Taylor (Walt), and Nicholas Ribando (Harley).
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anthony and Marie Ribando Sr.; sister-in-law, Stacy Ribando; uncle, Anthony "Tony" Ribando, Jr.
Family and friends will be received at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401 on Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with a Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Danny Carter officiating.
Interment will follow in Howell Family Cemetery, Tickfaw, Louisiana.
Pallbearers are Michael Ribando, Maurice McCall, DJ Rushing, E.J. Carenale, Jerry Howell Jr., Chris Neal, Sr. and honorary pallbear, Timothy Anthony.
In honor of Chad’s vibrant personality, the family requests that everyone wear bright colors to the funeral.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
