Cecelia Valenti Nye

Cecelia Valenti Nye passed away on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, in Loranger, Louisiana, at the age of 94. She was born on Sunday, February 16, 1930, in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Salvador and Katherine Valenti. She was a resident of Loranger, Louisiana.

Cecelia lived life to the fullest, whether it was going to the casino, crocheting, or spending time with her family, she loved it all. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Cecelia is survived by her son, Thomas J. Nye; daughter, Patricia Martin (Donald); son, Rickey J. Nye (Dayan); son, Mark A. Nye; grandchildren, T.J. Nye (Alisa), Donnie Martin, III., Alyssa Jarreau (Michael), and Joshua Nye; great-grandchildren, Codie and Harlie Nye, Alaina and Sophia Jarreau; sisters, Katie Nye and Annie Valenti Dufour; and brothers, Pete and Tony Valenti.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian "Pat" Thomas Nye; parents, Salvador "Sam" and Katherine "Katie" Valenti; daughter-in-law, Richalyn Nye; brothers, Sam and Joseph Valenti.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, 9:00 am - 12:30 pm. At Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, with funeral services following at 12:30 pm.

Interment will follow in Rose Memorial Park Cemetery, Hammond, Louisiana.
