Carol Ann "Mamoo" LaVigne Vallie

Carol Ann “Mamoo” LaVigne Vallie, of Loranger, Louisiana, peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on Thursday, August 29, 1946, in Alpena, Michigan, to the late Lawrence Edward and Marcia Mary LaVigne.

Carol was best known as “Mamoo” to her family and those who knew her. In her free time, Carol enjoyed doing crafts with her grandchildren. She especially loved to make nativity scenes. Her nativity scenes were beautiful designs made with driftwood and other types of materials. Once a scene was completed, she would share them with her family. Carol was a very giving person. She enjoyed giving her family blessings and would always say that she would rather see them blessed while she was still alive. Out of all the light in Carol’s life, her great-grandson, Jackson Keith Drago, was her sunshine.

She is survived by her children, Mary C. Duarte (Will) and Richard Vallie; grandchildren, Jennifer Drago (Jordan), Keith Bergeron, Jonah Bergeron, Richard Vallie II, Erin Vallie, and Emilie Fayard; great-grandchildren, Jackson Drago, Jansen Drago, Adrian Fayard, and Harper Fayard; bonus grandchildren, Jake and Kendall Kraft, Bailey and Billy Kemp, and Sofie and Nicklous Duarte; and siblings, Larry LaVigne, Roger LaVigne, Al LaVigne, and Kenny LaVigne.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth P. Vallie, and daughter, Dawn Vallie.

The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date in time.
