Carl Harold Huebner

Carl Harold Huebner, 90, of Hattiesburg, died September 15, 2016, at his home. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Hammond. Mr. Huebner was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a mechanical engineer at Vickers Aviation for 33 years and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He enjoyed musical concerts, especially organ, traveling and sitting on his porch. Carl was especially appreciative of his nephew, Denny, who would attend to any projects that he could no longer do. They both enjoyed discussing and solving any and all “fix-it” problems. He will be remembered for his kindness, quick wit and as a gentle soul. Carl was preceded in death by his 1st wife, Arnelda Cornelius Huebner; his parents, Carl and Norma Huebner; and brother, James Huebner. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Hope Reid Huebner of Hattiesburg; a sister, Nancy Burke of California; niece and nephew, Hope and Denny Himel of Hammond. The family would like express their gratitude and appreciation to special care-givers, Maxine Knowles, Sarah Walker and Betty Eaton and to their close friends and neighbors.
