Byard “Peck” Edwards, Jr.

Byard “Peck” Edwards, Jr. passed away on August 11, 2023 at St. Tammany Medical Center after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents Byard Edwards Sr. and Neville Reid Edwards. Peck was born on May 17, 1943, and grew up in Ponchatoula, LA.

He was a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and LSU Law School. He was admitted to the Louisiana Bar, and practiced law in Ponchatoula for many years.

He is survived by his children, Ashley Edwards Bass, Byard “Hawk” Edwards, III, and Asa Lambert, 6 grandchildren; and his siblings Katherine Edwards Vigneron, Beryl Edwards Trawick, and Andrew Edwards.

Throughout his life he enjoyed boating, hunting, fishing, and horses. Besides practicing law, he also was a rancher and businessman.

A private family gathering will be held to commemorate his life.
