Bruce Labrecque

Bruce Labrecque was born to Norman and Edna Labrecque on May 8th, 1955 in Connecticut. After high school he pursued a degree in horticulture from UCONN to further his dream of feeding the world. Later, while driving to south Louisiana to begin work in the oil field, his car broke down in the Hammond area. From that point on, Hammond became his permanent home and the community became his family. It was a short time after he became the proprietor of the famous Mariner's Inn. His dream of feeding the world came to fruition in a different light.

Bruce enjoyed the outdoors and mentoring individuals of all walks of life. These two passions came together perfectly when he became Scoutmaster to Boy Scout Troop 212 for many years. Bruce took his troop, including his two sons, on adventures all across the country. He instilled virtues such as honesty, loyalty, and thriftiness. Throughout the years, Bruce's family continued to grow bringing him seven delightful grandchildren which invigorated his dream to expand on his adventures. He was known for his amazing stories detailing his abundant unique experiences from around the world.

Bruce touched so many lives with his kindness and distinctive outlook on life. To know Bruce was to love Bruce. He was admired and cherished by all.

Preceding him in death are his parents Norman Labrecque Sr. and Edna Labrecque and stepson Shad Tranum.

Bruce is survived by his children Baily Labrecque, Tyler Labrecque (Jana), Chelsea Kessenich (Eric), Andrea Anzalone Labrecque; his grandchildren Nolan Labrecque, Phoebe Kessenich, Jonas Labrecque, Harris "Beck" Kessenich, Willa Labrecque, Perrin Labrecque, Tilde Kessenich, and Jade Tranum; his siblings (in-laws and nieces/nephews) Keith Labrecque, Polly Labrecque, Sofia Labrecque, Xavier Labrecque, Sandy Labrecque, Norman "Buzz" Labrecque (Cherly), Nicole Labrecque, Michael Labrecque; previous spouses Lisa Fulco, Rose Luttmann and Eugenie Orgeron.
