Bruce David Bennett passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 82. He was born on Saturday, February 3, 1940, in Holden, Louisiana to the late Augusta McCarroll Bennett and George Bennett. He was a resident of Albany, Louisiana. Bruce was an avid rabbit hunter with his beagles for many years and, in his latter years, he put many miles on his vehicles. He served over five decades as Livingston Parish Ward Four Constable.
Bruce is survived by daughter, Wanda Bennett Knight and husband Terry; son David Bennett; stepson, Clyde Clayton, grandchildren, Michael, Brittany, Blair, Kandyce; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Bennett, Corbin, Conlon, Addie, Kalyssa, Juliana, AbiGayle, Caden; sisters, Jewel Delatte, Gladys Williams, Donnis Fletcher, Mary Ann Stewart; and his brother, Prentiss
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife Mary Bennett; parents, George and Augusta McCarroll Bennett, brothers, Elmer "Rabbit", George "Bilbo", Jerry L Bennett; grandson Brandon Knight, as well as his granddaughter Kyndal McKinney.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Service at James Chapel Cemetery, James Chapel Road, Holden, Louisiana 70744, on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 10:00 am.
