Bruce Bordelon, Sr., peacefully passed away, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, at the age of 85. He was born on Tuesday, July 23, 1940, in Bordelonville, Louisiana, to the late Stella and Lawrence Bordelon. He was a resident of Ponchatoula, Louisiana.
Bruce worked for many years as a supervisor at Union Carbide, but he was most proud of being a United States Army veteran. He served his country for over 14 years, including service during the Korean War. In his free time, Bruce enjoyed riding his tractor, feeding birds and wild animals, restoring religious statues, and watching football, especially cheering for the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers.
Bruce is survived by his daughters, Jackie Billings (David) and Tonni Bode; sons, Joseph Bordelon (Glenda) and Bruce Bordelon, Jr. (Sondra); grandchildren, Crystal Koratko, Casey Powell, Lisa Billings Miceli, Glenn Wilson, Howard Bode, Joseph Bordelon, Ashlyn Strempel, Joy Edwards, Memphis Bordelon, Joshua Bordelon, Hayden Bordelon, Kali Ronquille, Brock Tisdale, Julie Tisdale, Billy Tisdale, Bobby Tisdale, Bryan Tisdale; great- grandchildren; Nathan and Christopher Koratko, Sawyer Billings, Jase Powell, along with numerous other great-grandchildren; and sisters, Agilre Johnson and Ila Lemoine.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julie Hemphill Bordelon; daughter, Billie Tisdale; son, Billy “Jr.” Tisdale; parents, Stella and Lawrence Bordelon; and sister, Anna Bordelon.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Graveside Service at Sand Hill Cemetery, Highway 22 East, Ponchatoula, Louisiana 70454, on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 11:00 am.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home and Crematory of Hammond and Ponchatoula.
