Brenda Joyce Overland

Brenda Joyce Overland passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, in Hammond, Louisiana, at the age of 79. She was born on Monday, April 21, 1947 to the late Olivia Temple Brewer and the late Roland Brewer, Jr. She was a resident of Natalbany, Louisiana.

Brenda is survived by her husband of 59 years, Derek Overland, Sr.; son, Derek Overland, Jr.(Lori); granddaughters, Kelsey McCallister(Justin) and Kaity Addison; great-granddaughters, Adelynn and Emmy; brother, Roland Brewer III; sister-in-law, Iris Andrea Overland; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roland Brewer, Jr.; mother, Olivia Temple Brewer; son, Pryce Overland; brothers, David Brewer and Ronald Brewer(Diane); and brother-in-law, Paul Overland.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, 2000 N. Morrison Boulevard, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM. The visitation will continue the following day, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at the funeral home, beginning at 9:00 AM until the funeral service begins at 11:00 AM.

Interment will follow in Woodhaven Church of God Cemetery, Natalbanay, Louisiana.
