Boyd "Podo" Wayne Thompson, Sr.

Boyd "PoDo" Wayne Thompson, Sr. passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016, in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 70.  He was born on Tuesday, June 25, 1946, in Independence, Louisiana to the late Doris Prevost Thompson Fredrick and Abraham Thompson.  He was a resident of Folsom, Louisiana.

PoDo is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Lorraine Jerald Thompson; sons, Boyd Wayne Thompson, Jr. and wife, Amy, and John E. Thompson, Sr. and wife, Regina; brothers, Abraham "AB" Thompson, Jr. and wife, Linda, and Michael Thompson and wife, Robin; sisters, Maggie Mansfield and husband, Shelby, Syble Pierre and husband, Bubba, and Edna Rainey and husband, EJ.   Also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Abraham Thompson; his mother & stepfather, Doris Prevost Thompson Fredrick and Cliff Fredrick; daughter, Jennifer Lynn Thompson; and grandson, Boyd Wayne Thompson, III.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service in the chapel of Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home, 2000 N. Morrison Blvd, Hammond, Louisiana 70401, on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 11:00 am.  Visitation will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday evening from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm and on Tuesday morning from 9:00 am until the service begins at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow in Lighthouse Baptist Church Cemetery, in Folsom, Louisiana.
