Beverly Elizabeth Cornett

Beverly Elizabeth Cornett, age 78, peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Richard Murphy Hospice House. She was born on Tuesday, November 13, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Jack and Robbie Carpenter. Beverly was a beautician for 20 years then went on to be a nurse in the drug rehab field for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed watching movies, whether is was in the theater and or at home with her family. Beverly was often found reading any book she could find, mainly her bible, which she passed her love for reading on to her children. Her family describes her as laughably funny from being goofy to sarcastic, she had it covered. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all who knew her and will be deeply missed.

She leaves behind her loving husband Matt Cornett; children, Kim Brunet, Joseph Cornett, Alethea Brock, Robert Cornett, Matt Cornett III (Contessa), David Cornett, Stephanie Love, and Melissa Hancock (Thad); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Bobby Ray Watson and Mark Carpenter (Marina).

Preceding her in death were her parents, Jack and Robbie Carpenter; daughter, Reatha Spencer; son-in-laws, Joey Brunet and Kenny Love; and her siblings, Billy Carpenter and Gita Watson.

Family and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Beverly's Funeral Service on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Ponchatoula at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Dr. David Cranford will officiate the services with burial to follow in Amite Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Amite.
