Betty Lorraine Meyers Short Howell, Of Jackson Descent

Betty Myers Short Howell--93 years, 10 months, and 3 days--of Loranger, Louisiana, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, August 20, 2022.

A memorial service will be held at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond, Louisiana. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 24, 6:00 pm-9:00 pm. On Thursday, visitation will be from 9:00 am-11:00 am. The service will be conducted by Brother Rod Smith, Thomas Short, Nelson Doolittle and Eric Doolittle, beginning at 11:00 am. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Church of God

Betty Lorraine Myers was born in Batchelor, Louisiana, October 17, 1928. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Thomas Daniel Short; her second husband, James Daniel Howell; by her parents Veva and Spencer Myers; one son, Spencer Morgan Howell; one sister, Norma Simpson Hayden; and two sons-in-law, Paul R. Donohue and Scott A. Miller.

She is survived by two daughters Faith DeLe Donohue and Becky Sue Ella Miller; one son Matthew Pierson Howell and his wife Debbie, all of Loranger. She is also survived by three grandsons--Trey Darius Miller and girlfriend Danielle, Spencer Scott Miller and wife Hannah, and Ethan Slade Howell. She is also survived by one sister, Gayle Myers McCullen, one special niece Alice Kline, and many relatives and friends.
